Sutton Capital Group was founded by Darren Sutton, a developer, builder, and real estate visionary with more than 25 years of experience in property development and construction across the Carolinas. His career began with a foundation in Construction Management from East Carolina University and grew through decades of hands-on experience in residential communities, land development, commercial projects, and vertical construction.
Before launching Sutton Capital Group, Darren co-founded Bonterra Builders, a high-growth homebuilding company later acquired for $104MM. That experience shaped the foundation for Sutton Capital Group: a firm focused on identifying value-driven opportunities, creating strategic partnerships, and delivering projects that strengthen communities while generating long-term value.
Today, Sutton Capital Group focuses on raw land procurement, entitlement, land planning, residential communities, multi-family developments, commercial, industrial, and storage projects. With over $100MM in value-add creation across the Carolinas, Sutton Capital Group continues to develop places where people can live, work, grow, and invest with confidence
